Top Cat Sites

Cats and kittens on desk and computer

By now, we know that cats rule the Internet, as shown by their full command over our homes and hearts. There is good reason that feline cuteness is everywhere on the Internet. Whether it is a cat playing a piano video, a cat cleaning a napping baby, or a sleeping kitten picture .... it just adds a little brightness and fun to our day.

As a cat owner and breeder, I am continually surprised, amused and amazed by the creativity of our cats and the many ways cats appear on the Web. Below is a list of my top favorite cat sites. Enjoy!

1.   Meowbify -  (11/2018 - site no longer exists)

Enter any URL (Internet address) at this site and it will give that site a cat-themed makeover. Watch Meowbify make over Fox News ( with silly animated cat GIFs and other cat images. Any site URL you enter will instantaneously become cat friendly and brighten your day.

2.   ProCATinator

Bored at the office? Need a pick-me-up? Then stop on over at Procatinator and providing endless entertainment by a silly cat video accompanied music. I watched a cat feverishly driving a car to the tune of the "Green Hornet". When I clicked again, I saw a cat dressed in a shark costume riding a Roomba and chasing a duck to musical accompaniment. Click "show me another cat" to move onto the next song / cat combination. Priceless!

3.   The Kitten Covers

If you are old enough and/or savvy enough to remember vinyl album covers and you love cats, you will enjoy this site. View classic record covers "re-imagined" with cats. Fun.

4.   Stuff on my Cat

This site taps into a pastime that many of us cat owners already do, putting silly things on our cats when they are asleep or dressing them up. On this site, the pictured cats seem to be especially docile.

5.   The Infinite Cat Project

Add your cat to the ever-growing Infinite Cat Project features 1,782 (January 2014) cats and kittens doing what cats do. View "Short" an 8 week old, black kitten trying to figure out why his shadow keeps getting away from him or the uncoordinated Bengal cat that falls with style. Add your cat to the project and join in the fun.

6.   Simon's Cat

Simon's Cat, a cartoon strip and video series created by Simon Tofield. Simon's cat harasses his owner. The website features YouTube videos, book reviews, games, and a shop with all the Simon's Cat goods you could ever ask for or think of.

7.   Written Kitten

Written Kitten by Skud, Emily and contributors. According to the site's "About" page, the creators liked positive reinforcement, so they decided to make something a bit like writeordie but cuter and fuzzier. Images from Flickr's "most interesting" photos matching the tags "kitten" and "cute" a random selection.
